“The cottage is finished to an absolutely exceptional standard with all the modern gadgets you could wish for. A huge smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime etc built in. Nest heating systems, Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. Automatic spotlights in the hallway to save you having to turn on the lights at night. At the same time the cottage really retains its original features and the log burner and wooden beams made it so cozy. The location of the cottage was a little daunting at first, (down a single track lane) but we soon got used to it and found (per the owners advice) that taking the road via Porth is by far the easiest option. We had a peaceful and comfortable winter stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer!! I am sure we will be back.“

“We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our time at Bullpen! We particularly loved the kitchen – it was so well equipped. Great fire and smartTV to relax in front of (along with board games!) if you get struck by rain like we did… we didn’t actually mind as it was nice and cosy indoors! Comfy beds and great bathroom. Lovely and sparkling clean – we’d definitely recommend for a chilled break in a great location for Watergate Bay and Newquay.“
“Highly highly recommend Nick as a host. We arrived at an awkward time in the early hours of the morning and it wasn’t a problem at all. He was welcoming and when we had any issues with places to go or best places to eat he was just a message away with a very quick response. The cottage itself is beautiful and me and Emily where blown away as it’s a lot better than we expected. It is a very clean and modern cottage which is also very cosy. The place was equipped with everything anyone could need. Overall couldn’t rate the host or the stay any higher. Thanks Nick we had a great time!!“
“Bullpen Cottage is such a find! Finished to an excellent standard with everything you could possibly need. Nick and Loz were fantastic hosts and communication was excellent. They are also just next door so on hand if you need anything (within reason!). Location wise, a stone’s throw from Porth Beach and Watergate Bay, up the end of a private lane and totally secluded. We had shocking weather and enjoyed locking ourselves away with the roaring fire. If you want the perfect balance of modern vs traditional and all mod cons in a sparkling clean, stylish renovation with brilliant hosts in a secluded location then this is for you! Can also highly recommend Scott & Babs for lunch/dinner but be sure to book as it’s very popular! Thanks again to Nick & Lauren for their advice and a wonderful stay. We will be back!“

“We’ve stayed in a lot of holiday rental properties (and indeed own one ourselves) but Bullpen Cottage must rank up there as one of the most stylish, and beautifully presented! It really is a stunning property refurbishment – it’s also extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean. Apparently it was completed 3 years ago, but you’d think it was done in the last few months… Sadly we stayed only one night, as a result of an early return from the Scilly Isles via Newquay airport – so were unable to do justice to the house and location, but would absolutely not hesitate to recommend it. “This place really is a hidden gem. You need a car as it is a rural location but once you find it, it’s definitely worth the effort. It is a gorgeous cottage with fantastic interiors and everything you could want / need. Nick was easy to communicate with and before we arrived he gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and places to go and there’s lots more information at the cottage. Would highly recommend this place, we loved it.“

Chefs will be inspired to make new dishes after a day at the beach with the huge array of top end cooking equipment and fun chic cookbooks. The living room is a truly relaxing environment where you can curl up in front of the fireplace and read a book, play boardgames or vegetate watching the telly. There is a secured courtyard for nippers to run wild and a BBQ with coals and firelighters supplied for the outdoor cooking experience. Bedrooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The shower… what can I say? Soooooo, good.“

“Wonderful cottage with top of the range amenities. From the appliances, Austrian doors (which shift quietly), light sensors, and motion detectors at the stairs. There’s a BOSCH washing machine and tumble dryer. USB connections in the power points, Villeroy and Boch bathroom, and a huge TV! A huge fridge, and top of the range china from Le Creuset … the list goes on. There’s also a lot of useful information and material for local restaurants etc.”
